Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone, born on 5th January 1986 (pronounced as [diPIkaPaduko or [paDuko"paDuko"), is an Indian movie actress. She is most often seen in films that are primarily Hindi-language. Her accolades include the three Filmfare Awards. She is also one of India's highest-paid actors. Time Magazine ranked Padukone as among the top 100 influential people in the world in 2018. They also gave her the TIME100 Impact Award 2022. Padukone was the daughter of the professional badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and raised in Bangalore. At the age of 16 she was a badminton player in national level championships but left her professional career to become a fashion model. She soon began getting offers to appear in movies and her first part as an actor was in the film Aishwarya, the Kannada main character. Padukone also played a two-part part alongside Shah Rukh Khan in her first Bollywood release, the romance Om Shanti Om (2007), which won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female debut. Padukone's role as the lead as the lead in Love Aaj Kal was well liked, but it came with an unexpected setback.
