Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post, is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is an author, television personality, philanthropist and also the proprietor and editor of The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece she was able to move to England at the age of sixteen and then completed her studies at Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The first graduate non-UK to serve as president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. In the years following the graduation ceremony, she became a prominent Conservative syndicated journalist. A few more years later she created The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current political scene. She was able to get many prominent contributors to share their opinions on culture and politics. Arianna rose to fame in 2003 after she decided to stand for a non-partisan position for the California recall vote to succeed the then governor Davis. Alongside this she was the leader of the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. Forbes named her as 12th on its list for the Most influential women in the media. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their Top 100 list in the year 2010. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she was made president of this media group. The acquisition included a number of AOL properties of the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos, a journalist and management consultant. They were very close to her father, but it was her bond with her mother that formed her. Through her early times, she demonstrated abilities to lead, and for this her name is still well-known. When she moved to England, she was sixteen to further her studies and then enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. While in college she was a member of the Cambridge Union's colleges debating societies, and eventually was its first foreign female president. She graduated in 1972 with a Master's Degree in Economics. After her graduation, she was a critic columnist and television host. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began to write her own books with his help.
